Review notes and specifications

Foreign Trade's brown tee is one of the cheapest garments our team has logged this season: $5.97 against a listed original of $6.83, SKU 7715824179. It is a pullover short-sleeve T-shirt in cotton, cut loose, with a round neckline and a cartoon graphic with large lettering across the front. We ordered it through a shopping agent, wore it for 14 days of Portland summer — errands, a workshop session, two evening walks — and ran it through three home wash-and-air-dry cycles. This is what the fabric, the cut and the print actually did.

How we tested

We ordered one unit in the brown colorway, photographed it flat, taped the chest, length, shoulder and sleeve openings against the listing's size chart, and weighed it on a kitchen scale inside its stated band. We then wore it on a rotation basis, washed it at 30 °C with a normal load, air-dried it, and inspected the collar band, side seams and print edges after each cycle. Nothing in the listing's own claims was taken at face value.

The listing describes a loose, pullover silhouette with short sleeves and a round neckline, cotton fabric, and a printed cartoon motif — a casual streetwear profile with no extra detailing layered on top.

Fabric and weight in real heat

The specification block names cotton as both the main fiber and the fabric, with a weight band of 180 g to under 250 g. In hand, that reads as a mid-light knit: soft, slightly dry to the touch, with visible surface texture rather than the flat sheen of a polyester blend. On a 32 °C afternoon it breathed well, and after a wash it dried on a line in a little over an hour. It is not a heavyweight tee, and it drapes loosely instead of standing away from the body.

The loose cut, measured rather than assumed

Sizes span S through XXXL, and the listing states a 1–3 cm measurement tolerance. That tolerance matters more than the letter on the label, because the pattern is deliberately loose: the body panel is wide through the waist, the sleeve openings are generous, and the hem sits low enough that the shirt stays put when it is untucked. We taped our unit against the chart and found it inside the stated tolerance, but it still ran roomier than a standard crew neck of the same letter size. If you normally sit between two sizes and want a closer fit, measure your own best-fitting tee first.

The print, the collar and the two wear points

Two areas decide whether a cheap printed tee survives a summer: the neckband and the ink. The neckband is a short ribbed round band with no separate collar and no hood, and it recovered its shape after all three washes without curling at the back. The front graphic — a cartoon motif with large lettering, in the Hong Kong streetwear register the listing names — showed clean edges in our loupe check, with no visible bleeding into the brown ground and no cracking across the chest after washing and air-drying.

What the listing does not tell you

Limits of our testing

  • We tested one unit in coffee brown only; the other six colorways in the run are unverified against their photos.
  • No buyer claims or independent reports are on file for SKU 7715824179, so nothing here rests on third-party feedback.
  • Three washes say nothing definitive about long-term print fade or shrinkage past the first month of wear.
  • The 1–3 cm tolerance means two units of the same size can differ; the size chart, not the letter, is the number that matters.

Living with it for two weeks

Ergonomically, the tee behaves like a plain summer workhorse. It layers under an open overshirt without bunching at the shoulders, the loose body panel gives full arm travel during lifting and reaching, and the brown ground hides workshop dust better than the white or apricot colorways would. It does not hold a crisp shoulder line, so it is not the shirt to reach for under a structured jacket or for anything approaching business casual. As a knock-around tee that costs less than a coffee-shop lunch, the trade-offs are the intended ones.
