We wore this $22.24 loopback pullover for two weeks of commuting, watching hood bulk, pocket reach and cuff behaviour. The cotton build holds up; the loose-fit claim conflicts with BAPE's own sizing guidance, so confirm flat measurements first.

Review notes and specifications
We ordered the Bape white hoodie in relaxed streetwear style (SKU 7705015242) at $22.24 and wore it through two weeks of ordinary days — most of them with a sling bag across the chest, three of them with a shell jacket over the top and the hood left out. The question we wanted answered was not about the logo. It was whether a 350–400g loopback cotton pullover, cut loose across S–XXL, survives the small frictions of daily carry: hood mass under a strap, pocket reach around a flap, and cuffs that get shoved to the elbow a dozen times a day.
The listing, stripped to what it actually states
| SKU | 7705015242 |
| Price | $22.24 USD, down from $23.51, listed InStock |
| Main fabric / composition | Cotton / cotton |
| Weight band | 350g–400g (seller's figure) |
| Thickness / lining / fleece | Regular; no lining named; no fleece |
| Fit | Loose (listing attribute) |
| Sizes | S, M, L, XL, XXL |
| Colourways | Numbered loopback run, each in black, white and grey |
| Garment length | 69, with a stated tolerance of 1–3 and no unit printed |
| Finish / pocket | Non-iron treatment; pocket named two different ways |
| Season / graphic | Spring and autumn; cartoon chest print with wordmark and ape head |
Two of those rows create most of the risk for a buyer who never handles the garment first. The pocket is described as a "front kangaroo pocket" in the description copy and as a "flap patch pocket" in the attribute list, and the fit is called loose while BAPE's own fit guidance points the other way.
Hood mass and how it behaves under a strap
The hood is an unpadded cotton layer with a drawstring and no fleece or lining behind it, which is exactly what the listing claims for a spring and autumn piece. Under a crossbody sling it bunches behind the neck and pushes the shoulder seam upward with it. Our routine became routing the strap above the hood's outer edge rather than under it, so the hood sat flat against the back and the strap stayed put. Carried that way it adds real bulk across the back of the shoulders — the cost of the loose cut — but it stops shifting after the first few minutes. Worn open under a shell, the hood sat comfortably without straining the collar seam.
Pocket reach and the specification that argues with itself
We tested the pocket the way anyone actually uses it: phone in, phone out, hands in while standing in a queue. The opening on the delivered pullover is front-of-body and the flap sits over the top of it, so the hand entry is a downward reach rather than the side sweep a classic kangaroo pocket allows. Depth is adequate for a standard phone; a larger wallet sits at the top of the opening and is visible unless the flap covers it.
Description copy says "front kangaroo pocket." The attribute list says "flap patch pocket." Both cannot describe the same opening on the same garment.
We cannot settle which term is correct, and neither can the listing. If the pocket shape is the deciding factor for you, ask the seller for a flat photo of the pocket with a tape measure across the opening before you pay.
Ribbed cuffs after repeated push-ups
Loopback terry is not a high-recovery knit, and the cuffs are where that shows. Pushed to the elbow and left there through a working day, ours finished the day sitting wider than they started. A cold wash and flat drying brought them back close to their original circumference, and the ribbing held its shape across the fortnight without fraying or twisting. The drawstring is a plain cord with no metal hardware — nothing to corrode, nothing to rattle, and nothing that catches on a bag strap.
Fit: the two signals still do not match
The listing labels this pullover loose. Independent BAPE sizing guidance says the brand's hoodies are cut slim and that buyers routinely size up one size for a standard fit and two for an oversized look. Some shoppers have also complained that in-store try-on garments did not match the size they were sold. We are not going to pretend a fortnight of wear resolves a conflict the listing itself creates. The only numeric fit figure offered is a garment length of 69 with a tolerance of 1–3 and no unit printed; if those are centimetres it reads as a mid-length pullover, but we could not confirm the unit, and a length tells you nothing about chest width. Ask for flat chest, shoulder and length measurements and compare them to a hoodie already in your drawer.
Print quality is the real gamble on a white ground
White is unforgiving. Every registration error, every ragged edge and every smudge shows up against the fabric rather than disappearing into a dark ground. Reviewers of rep Bape hoodies routinely flag uneven ape-head eyes, mis-spaced camo motifs and thin or misaligned lettering in the chest graphic, and one noted an initial smell that faded after airing. A buyer of Bape-style pieces from a China marketplace described the cotton as not very good and reported tags falling apart. Against that, a well-known authenticity guide notes that genuine BAPE hoodies are typically heavyweight 100% cotton and that a garment feeling thin, stretchy or synthetic is a warning sign — useful as a general texture test, though it says nothing about this particular listing. Check the chest graphic in high-resolution photos before ordering, and check the delivered print in daylight, not under warm indoor light.
What we could not verify
- No independent buyer evidence covers this exact SKU. The sizing, print-QC and smell reports above come from BAPE generally or from rep-market reviewers, not from this listing.
- The listing's weight field reads 0.00 kg, which tells you nothing about the garment. The 350–400g band is the seller's own figure.
- Whether the cut actually runs loose, and what the pocket construction actually is, both remain open until a seller photo or the parcel answers it.
Price and retest
At $22.24 against a $23.51 original, this is a light cotton layer priced like one. Nothing about the cotton build or the hood hardware felt disposable across two weeks, and the non-iron finish meant it came out of a cold wash ready to wear. We retest products every 12 months, or sooner if a significant update or new version is released.
